We're excited to share that Farmers State Bank (FSB) has entered into an agreement to acquire Central State Bank (CSB), an Iowa community bank headquartered in State Center. The transaction is expected to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals and customary closing conditions.

This partnership brings together two Iowa community banks that share a commitment to local decision-making, personal service, and strong community relationships. It also supports FSB's long-term strategy of thoughtful growth across Iowa.

Why This Matters

This acquisition supports FSB's long-term strategy of thoughtful growth across Iowa. Since expanding into the Des Moines market in 2019, we've invested in relationships, talent, and local service. Welcoming Central State Bank into the FSB family will allow us to serve more Iowa customers while preserving the community-bank experience both organizations value.

As the banking industry continues to evolve, we believe growth with purpose helps preserve the strength and independence of community banking. Together, we can continue investing in the people, technology, and capabilities that help our customers succeed.

What This Means for FSB Customers

For current FSB customers, it's business as usual. There are no changes to your accounts or banking services. The biggest benefit will be added convenience through an expanded branch presence in Central Iowa, including additional locations in Ames, and State Center.

Most importantly, our commitment to personal service remains unchanged. We look forward to continuing to serve Iowa communities with the relationship-based banking experience you've come to expect from FSB.
